Tips For A New Seller On E Bay

By Sagar Jawale

I am directing this text to those that are just starting their e bay Promoting Venture. Whether you are selling books, DVDs, CDs, collectibles or clothing, all issues should be mailed. And it is the postage, dealing with fees and mailing that appears to trigger a substantial amount of issues among new sellers.

You have heard the advice - don't overcharge for shipping. That is very good advice, indeed, as nothing turns off potential buyers like sellers who gouge you on the shipping costs. It's also a practice that can rack up bad feedback.

How can you be fair to each you and your buyers? Purchase a scale. It might sound simple, but buying a scale can prevent a bundle in shipping. If you are just eyeballing theweight of the bundle, you can often times guess it to be low, and be in for quite a shock if you go to the post office and see the bundle goes to cost twice for shipping than what you thought.

Know the size of your packaging earlier than listing the item. Some packages cost extra to ship due to their dimensions. Knowing the weight alone isn't enough.Offer the client quite a lot of transport methods. Some desire speedy delivery with express mailing, whereas some choose to economize with parcel post regardless that the waiting is longer. It's always a good suggestion when using parcel post or different slower floor shipping to alert the client by e mail that it can take anywhere from eight to ten days.

Give yourself a small handling fee that will cover your expenses. Some sellers add on an additional $1 or $2 to the shipping fees for their handling fees .I really advocate doing this because your expenses will add up if you do a lot of selling on e bay. Be sure to be upfront with your buyers that you have a small handling fee so they can't complain about it later.Being fair to both yourself and your buyer will keep you both happy, and keep more of your profit in your pocket.
