It's Not As Hard As You Think To Make Money on eBay

By Carl Ferraro

It is hard work looking for the popular items on eBay. There are some categories that are always going to be popular, including top clothing names and electronics. You will also find an array of antique items are popular because people flock to eBay to find those items. You will not find antiques at wholesale prices.

If you want to sell the popular items on eBay, you can consider looking for those items at wholesalers. A smart eBay seller will do his/her research before investing any sum of money on wholesale goods. If you are going to invest any money in wholesale items, you should invest in the popular items that sell well.

After careful research, decide on which item you would like to sell. Then research which wholesaler will give you the best price. Start your research with liquidators, because more often than not, you will get the best deal from them. Look for large quantities of designer name brands because you will make more profit with a designer label.

You will want to research who you are buying from. There are sources online that can help you find an honest liquidator. Remember that there are people who sell designer knock-offs, so check a company's integrity before purchasing from them.

Drop shippers are another effective source for acquiring wholesale items. These drop shippers are willing to sell you small quantities of items and ship them directly to your customers. This means that you can save a lot on overhead since you won't have to store a huge array of goods and supplies.

Another advantage of using a drop shipper is that you can often negotiate favorable payment terms. To wit, many times you won't have to pay them unless and until you get the money from your customers. However, always contact your drop shipper directly to insure that he has available supplies, and to agree on a price.

One disadvantage of using a drop shipper is that the price you'll have to pay will be higher than that which you might be able to get on wholesale. If you have the requisite amount of storage space and can sell small items like jewelry, and if you have the cash to invest, your profits will be higher when you buy large quantities in advance.

Initially the best strategy you can follow is to buy the goods in small quantity through a drop shipper and deliver to your clients. This way you will be able assess the market and then you can expand your business to a larger scale.

You Can Be the Next e-Bay Millionaire

By Simon E. Tidwell

eBay has redefined the world of internet marketing. It is the preeminent online auction site in the world and it has no serious competition. Tens of thousands of sellers are getting rich by selling everything from dinner with a celebrity to condos in Texas. The keys to your success on eBay can be summed up in some simple and easy to replicate business ideas. These ideas are not unique to eBay, but they are necessary for anyone that hopes to make money, online or offline. There is a free report available that will elaborate on these eBay strategies and give you many other ideas too.

1. Research and Choose a Niche

No one can dominate every market on eBay, or anywhere else. You need to have one product or product line that you can easily find and profitably sell. This is the necessary first step, because this is the vehicle for your success. Look at the eBay categories and see what the competition looks like in the niches you are considering and pick the one where there are fewer sellers and less diversity of product. If possible, find a niche that has fanatics. These are people who feel the need to own something. It could be baseball cards, old Avon perfume bottles, or Hawaii calendars. Once you've chosen your niche, put everything you've got into dominating the eBay market.

2. What Gets Measured, Gets Managed.

If you measure your results, your results will improve. All successful marketers know this simple truth. Every eBay auction provides a wealth of information that must be measured to find what succeeds and what doesn't. Fortunately, recent developments in monitoring software make it fairly easy to analyze your marketing campaigns. This means that you don't have to spend hours doing the research and the calculations. Consequently you have the time and the information you need to improve your efforts and increase your profits.

3. Keep Working At It.

Setbacks are bound to happen. Every entrepreneur has them. Whether it's a sale that fell through, an angry customer or a lost shipment, you must realize that stuff happens and you can't let that keep you from success you. Your attitude must be, I will learn from this, I will make sure that it can't happen again (to the best of my ability) and I will keep working on and improving my eBay business. That's what the power sellers do, and you must do it too.

These three strategies should set you on a profitable path in any eBay business. While there are many ways to succeed on eBay, the most profitable and least stress inducing way is to find a niche that always delivers. Whether its sports equipment or rare clothing, there's always a niche that's waiting to be filled by an enterprising and motivated eBay entrepreneur. Don't let those niches get taken, instead go about filling them yourself. With a great range of software available to take the stressful analytics and niche-finding side of the business out of your hands, there's never been a better time to become an ultra-successful eBay entrepreneur.
